About

Welcome to our cozy Wintergreen cabin in the trees! You'll truly feel at peace with nature on the three levels of decks and great privacy. The interior has been fully renovated with modern finishes. The light-drenched living room with a wall of windows brings the sense of nature inside. Outside, enjoy the hot tub, covered dining for 10, firepit, and grill/pizza oven area. We are close to skiing and some of the best hiking trails, wineries, and breweries in Virginia. Plus, pet friendly!

Good to know

The name of our home is "Dela Kloof", which roughly translates to "peaceful mountain home in the forest." We are located in the heart of beautiful Wintergreen in Virginia, which has tons to do for all ages, year-round. Dela Kloof is just a few minutes’ drive to the slopes and all the dining and entertainment at Wintergreen. Some of the best hiking trails in the state are off the Blue Ridge Parkway (15 minutes from the home), plus there are other great trails just down the street. Also nearby are two sandy-beach-entrance lakes plus a community pool for swimming, and over dozen wineries, breweries, and distilleries- all within a 30 minute drive. The house has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, with the layout as follows: Main level: - Living room with working propane fireplace and big screen smart TV - Dining area for 11, plus room for 2-3 more at the kitchen bar - Newly renovated and fully stocked kitchen with granite counters, stainless appliances, plus coffee bar - Half bath - Main level deck features propane firepit with ample seating, covered deck with dining for 10, gas grill and pizza oven Upper level: - Loft area overlooking living room with pullout sofa - BR1: Master bedroom with king bed and access to small private balcony - Full bath 1: fully renovated with double vanity, tiled shower, and heated floors Lower level: - BR2: Master bedroom with king bed, working gas fireplace, and access to lower deck - Full bath 2: Ensuite bathroom of BR2, fully renovated with double vanity, tiled shower, and heated floors - BR3: Bedroom with king bed and access to lower deck - BR4: Bedroom with queen over queen bunk - Full bath 3: Shared bathroom with entry from BR3 and hallway, fully renovated with double vanity, tiled shower/tub, and heated floors - Laundry room with full size washer and dryer - Lower deck features new hot tub and additional outdoor seating

Other Details to Note

- Dela Kloof is pet friendly! We allow up to 4 pets with a $100 pet fee (total, not per pet or per night). Also, the deck is entirely enclosed, so unless your pup has a penchant for fence-jumping, they can be outdoors off-leash on the back deck while you enjoy the hot tub! Please note that you are responsible for any damage caused to the house, whether that's from a human or an animal! - We provide our guests $1,500 of coverage for accidental damage to the property or its contents. The cost of this is already embedded in the cleaning fee. - Wintergreen offers hiking, skiing, snowboarding, tubing, swimming, dining, spa, ropes course, golfing, and much more. - While the parking area of our driveway is flat and can fit 4-5 vehicles, the beginning of the driveway is a slightly steep. If you are traveling during the winter months, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended, or you are welcome to park in the cul-de-sac and simply walk down the short driveway. - Wifi is fast with a strong signal throughout the house and decks. - We provide a fully stocked coffee bar with multiple coffee drip and Keurig options - Linens and towels provided - Guests can enjoy free community pool access in the summer season (though the HOA rules stipulate no more than 6 guests at a time, and the permitted hours are 2-6pm). - Pack n play, high chair, baby monitor, and kid dishes provided - We do require a separate rental agreement, which we will send a link to e-sign after you book. There are no additional fees beyond those listed here. - Please note that if you would like to send packages to the property, you do so at your own risk. USPS is particularly unreliable. We can not be held responsible for late or undelivered packages. Additionally, we charge $25 for any return services requested, in additional to actual postage.

Our family was looking for a place to gather. We wanted to do a whole lot of nothing. Time was spent watching Netflix, playing games, reading on the deck, taking walks and hikes. This was the perfect house! Everyone had their private area. Much time had been spent thinking about meeting our needs. Anything we might want was there. We had a baby and a pack n play was provided along with a highchair, and much needed baby gates on the stairs. We brought two dogs and found bowls, towels for drying paws and waste bags. We cooked every meal in the lovely kitchen. I found every dish and utensil I needed. The views were gorgeous, especially watching the sun rise each morning! It was very hard to leave!

Breathtaking home, parallel to the Blue Ridge Mountains with extensive, varied trails a short walk away! Felt like a luxurious treehouse, with natural light seeping in, comfortable with warm, elegant decor and open spaces for a memorable family gathering in the peace of the mountains! Every ammenity you could think of was available. Two decks with the wrap around upper deck allowing us to enjoy the surrounding developed woods, in lounge chairs and the use of covered dining table to fits 10-12 comfortably and gas fire place, AND a lower deck with a separate entry and hot tub to relax after a long day of hiking. Spa, tennis, nature center, close by by car, and 10 min drive to the central Mountain INN and Market. There's ample parking for 3-4 cars, adjacent to the house. Chris and his team made this a seemless booking, from initial reservation to instructions at the house and check it! We'll be back!

What an amazing house - everything we needed and hoped for. Nestled in the hills and trees, this was the perfect getaway for an incredible gathering with friends. Chris and Amy were uber proactive with details, instructions, and helpful tips on places to go/things to do and uber responsive answering our questions. Highly recommended their house in Wintergreen!

this was the perfect moutain escape so peaceful and quiet and different from where we are from. it was much needed time away nd such an amazing comfy space and host was amazing at responding to any and every little question.
